A video published this week shows detailed the new factory responsible for the serial manufacture of the main camp truck Altay, one of Turkey’s largest defense industrial projects.
The footage shows the modern plant, built by BMC in Ankara specialized organized industrial zone for aviation and aerospace (HAB), where industrial robots and automated systems are used from body manufacture to the final assembly line line.

The complex covers 555,000 m² with the possibility of expansion with an additional 150,000 m² and houses both BMC Defense, responsible for tank production, and BMC Power, which develops the national drive group Batu.
According to the official schedule, the first deliveries of Altay-T1 start in 2025 with 3 units and will reach a total of 85 tanks in 2028.

Altay is the first generation of main struggles fully developed in Turkey. Designed to meet the requirements of modern battle, the vehicle combines superior firepower, advanced armor ring and high mobility in various operational scenarios.
In the T1 version, the existing systems were significantly optimized, while the upcoming T2 will include additional innovations and technological improvements.
Currently, the Turkish armed forces operate foreign models such as Leopard 2A4, Leopard 1, M60TM, M60A3 and M48A5T2, produced in the US and Germany. Among them, Leopard 2A4 and M60TM are considered to be the most modern in service.
