Impact for the Ukrainian forces
According to the Ukrainian defense platform Militarnyi, Ukraine is expected to receive 65 MSFVs, designed to improve the mobility and protection of troops during intensive fighting and irregular warfare against Russian troops.
The MSFV is an improved version of the M1117 Guardian, a vehicle that is already in use at the Ukrainian army. It was originally developed for the Afghan national army and designed to meet the requirements of hybrid warfare, with a balance between mobility and protection.
Characteristics of the MSFV
The platform is considered versatile and offers:
- V-shaped hull for explosion deflection;
- Mine -proof armor;
- Compatibility with different weapon systems;
- Capacity for exploration, rapid troop transport and direct battles with enemy positions.
Thanks to these properties, the vehicle is seen as an essential remedy for operations in disputed areas.
Expected deliveries
The contract provides for the continuation of production over the next three years, with the first deliveries being planned for before the end of this decade.
