Trade balance closes with a positive balance of US $ 6.1 billion in August

The Brazilian trade balance closed the month of August with a surplus of US $ 6.133 billion, according to the balance released on Thursday (04) by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Exports totaled US $ 29.861 billion and imports were $ 23.728 billion last month.

In the year, exports already total US $ 227.583 billion and imports US $ 184.771 billion, with a positive balance of US $ 42.812 billion. Compared to August 2021, exports showed a growth of 3.9% and imports recorded a 2% drop.

According to the ministry, exports showed a significant increase of 11% for the UK, 43.82% for Mexico, 40.37% for Argentina, 31% for China and 58% for India. The largest registered falls were 43.8% for Belgium, 31.3% for Spain, 30.44% for South Korea and 17.1% for Singapore.

Compared to the United States, August registered a 18.5% drop in export volume. Iron ore showed a 100% drop, followed by the 84.9% reduction of aircraft sales and aircraft parts. Already the fresh beef fell by 46.2%, cellulose had a reduction of 22.7%and wood that registered a drop in exports of 39.9%.
