Restomods have seen a surge in popularity in recent years. There are dozens of companies out there ready to refurbish and extend the lifespan of your classic automobile.
Halcyon is no exception. The British-based restorer will commission 60 one-of-one builds of what it considers the most iconic Rolls-Royce and Bentley models of the 20th century. This begins with a Corniche convertible, which the company will showcase at Hampton Court Palace Concours of Elegance this weekend, from September 5-7.
Dubbed Highland Heather, this particular Corniche is Halcyon’s first build, and it shows off what a pristine remaster looks like when it’s all said and done. It starts with a restoration that strips the vehicle to bare metal. Halcyon’s expert craftspeople then restore the original parts to their former glory, if not better.
As a result, the Rolls-Royce will appear factory fresh on the outside. Beneath the skin, however, is where the magic happens. Halcyon intends to bring the vintage Rolls up to date with a modern powertrain.

This means replacing the V-8 powertrain that has appeared in several models between the 1960s and 1990s with a fully electric one. Halcyon developed an 800-volt battery pack in conjunction with sister company Evice Technologies, extending Rolls-Royce’s signature quiet demeanor for a smooth and effortless ride. It promises up to 500 horsepower and 250 miles of range.
Of course, it doesn’t end there. Each bespoke build brings adaptive suspension and regenerative braking with a selection of drive modes for the discerning driver. The cabin brings modern conveniences such as cruise control, heated and ventilated seats, a bespoke audio system, and Apple CarPlay behind a concealed display. It skips the pain of digital touchpoints for tactile analogue controls you’re likely to use most.
Once Halcyon exhibits the Purple Moorland-painted Corniche, the remaining cars commissioned for restoration will undergo an extensive 12-month build process. First deliveries are scheduled to commence toward the end of 2026.
The remaster costs half a million dollars, including a donor car. Expensive, but Halcyon’s mission appeals to those who have the means, as all 60 build slots are spoken for.
