The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) granted an injunction to revoke the arrest of rapper Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, known as Oruam.
The decision complies with a request from the artist’s defense to suspend pre -trial detention until the final judgment of the appeal.
The responsible minister argued that the pre -trial detention decree presented insufficient grounds to justify the early measure. According to him, “the first -degree judge used vacant arguments to report to the risk of new criminal and escape practices,” also noting that Oruam is a primary defendant and presented himself spontaneously to fulfill the arrest warrant.
The rapper responds to a lawsuit for attempted murder against Delegate Moyses Santana Gomes and civil police officer Alexandre Alvez Ferraz, during an approach taken at his residence in July this year. The action aimed to fulfill a warrant against a teenager who was at the singer’s house.
After the episode, Oruam would have taken refuge in the Penha Complex in the North Zone of Rio, but eventually surrendered to the authorities.
