Russia launches the largest night air strike of the war and attacks the government’s headquarters in Ukraine

Russia performed an unprecedented night attack against Ukraine, using over 800 drones and a dozen missiles. At least four people died and more than forty were injured, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This was the biggest drone bombing ever registered, surpassing the previous record of 740 in July. The attack hit several cities, including Kiev, where the government’s headquarters was bombarded for the first time.

The Ukrainian capital, Kiev, was one of the main targets of the Russian attack. At least two people died and 17 were injured in the city. The bombardment caused significant damage to residential buildings, especially in the Sviatoshynskyi district, where a nine -story building had four partially destroyed floors and caught fire. The attack also burned vehicles and other buildings.

The attack on the headquarters of the Ukrainian government in Kiev is considered a serious escalation of the conflict. Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha confirmed the damage on the roof and upper floors of the building.

Missiles and drones attack other cities

In addition to Kiev, the Russian attack has reached other cities such as Odessa (South), Zaporizehzhya (South), Kremenchuk (center) Krivoy Rog (east) and Dnipropetrovsk (east). The Russian forces used nine Iskander-K cruise missiles and four Iskander-M/KN-K23 ballistic missiles, as well as drones. In Odessa, three people were injured and a sports gym was damaged. In the cities of Krivoy Rog and Dnipropetrovsk, the attack injured four people and caused infrastructure damage, including administrative buildings and companies. In Kremenchuk, the electricity was interrupted in part of the city.

Attacks like this lead Ukraine to intensify their requests for more international support. Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and Minister Andrii Sybiha ask for more energetic answers from the West. They call for more sanctions against Russia, especially in the oil and gas sector, and an increase in the supply of weapons and anti -aircraft defense systems to contain Russian bombing.

The Ukraine Air Force managed to shoot down 747 of the 810 Shahed drones launched by Russia, as well as four Iskander-K cruise missiles. Despite the efficiency of the defense, 54 drones and nine missiles reached their targets, causing destruction and deaths.

The Ukrainian government regrets the loss of lives and reaffirms its commitment to rebuild the damaged structures.
