The MPSP Combating Fighting Fighting Group (Gaeco), in conjunction with the Military Police and the Civil Police, carries out on Monday (8) the “Operation Sharp”, aiming to dismantle organized crime actions in the region of downtown São Paulo, called “Cracolândia”. 14 search and seizure warrants are fulfilled.
The investigation is an unfolding of the “Operation Salus et dignitas”, triggered on August 6, 2024.
The operation resulted in the almost elimination of open drug use scenes in the region. According to the survey of the authorities, the trafficking was commanded by the first command of the capital (CCP), which dispatched orders from the interior of the community known as Favela do Moinho.
At the time, no dependent was arrested. However, the detention of leadership and closing of numerous establishments (hotels, bars, recycling companies, stores for cell phones) dominated by the criminal organization, as well as the arrest of public agents involved in militia activity.
In the continuity of actions, it was found that the favela do mill leadership continued to issue criminal orders from inside the prison, to intimidate CDHU employees, further preventing resident families to accept compensation for their houses under the pretext of resistance from the local community.
