Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, ally of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who has always opposed the help of the European Union to Ukraine in the war against Kremlin, raised the diplomatic tension with Kiev on Monday (29).
In an interview with a podcast, Orbán commented on Ukraine’s accusations that Hungarian recognition drones violated Ukrainian airspace on Friday (26).
At the time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto denied the accusation and said in X that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky is “losing his head.”
“Ukraine is not at war with Hungary; it is at war with Russia. It should worry about drones on its east border,” Orbán said, reported by Reuters.
“I believe in my ministers [que afirmaram que a violação não ocorreu]but let’s say they [drones] have flown a few meters there, so what? Ukraine is not an independent country. Ukraine is not a sovereign country, Ukraine is funded by us, the West provides him with funds and weapons, ”said the Hungarian Premier.
In X, Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, pinned Orbán and Szijjarto. “The good news is that Prime Minister Orbán admitted that some drones from Hungary entered Ukrainian airspace. Szijjarto, how is his tweet talking about ‘false allegations’ [da Ucrânia]? Didn’t you get older well? ”He mocked.
“But the bad news is that the prime minister is still intoxicated by Russian propaganda. We look forward to listening to his opinions on state sovereignty and independence as soon as he breaks free from his dependence on Russian energy, such as US President Donald Trump, and his European partners have insisted several times [para que fizesse]”Sybiha added.
