This Friday (5), Construtora Mota-Engil won the auction of the construction of the new Santos-Guarujá tunnel, on the coast of São Paulo.
The venture will be carried out through a sponsored concession, with an initial duration of 32 years and possibility of extension. The planned investment is about $ 7 billion. The tunnel will be 1.5 km in full length, 870 meters under the water, with three tracks in each direction.
The new connection between cities should benefit approximately 720,000 people. The project has vehicle track, pedestrian passage, bike path and an exclusive runner for light rail vehicles.
