Argentina’s president, Javier Milei, said on Wednesday (3) that the terrorist group Hamas prevents the distribution of food in the Gaza Strip and rejected the United Nations (UN) report that declared a state of hunger in various regions of the Palestinian round. In an interview with Podcast 21 NewsBy Louis Sarkozy, son of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Milei said “the food will, but Hamas terrorists don’t let them come in.”
According to Milei, international complaints of hunger in Gaza would be manipulated to weaken the Israeli government. He cited as an example a publication he considered false.
“Without going further, a cover of a famous magazine showed the problem that in the Gaza range people were starving and it happens that the photo was fake,” he said, without specifying what the publication was.
In July, the French newspaper Libération He stamped on his cover the photo of a malnourished Palestinian child to illustrate the allegations of hunger in the Gaza Strip. The image widely circulated on social networks and was the subject of questions, with users stating that it was an assembly. However, the agency France-Presse (AFP) He denied the rumors and later confirmed that the photograph was authentic, recorded by one of his accredited photographers.
The Argentine agent stated that such campaigns on hunger at the enclave directly seek to reach Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, “because he is very clear what is at stake and so they want to put him in check.”
Milei also said that Argentina is currently “one of the most comfortable places for the Jewish community” and has expressed concern about the growth of anti -Semitism in the West, especially in European countries and the United States.
Since taking over the presidency, Javier Milei has brought Argentina closer to Israel and has transformed the country into one of the main allies of the nation that fights terrorism in the Middle East in Latin America. In June, during a visit to Israel, the Argentine President reaffirmed in the country’s parliament the decision to transfer Tel Aviv’s embassy to Jerusalem, which Israel considers it to be his true capital, following the same way that President Donald Trump made in 2018, while in his first term and took the US embassy to the Holy City, claimed by Israeli and Palestinians.
Last month, the United Nations (UN), through the Integrated Classification of Food Security Phases (CIF), stated in the north of the Gaza Strip and attributed the crisis to the blockade imposed by Israel. The Israeli government rejects the evaluation, arguing that the UN acts politically and reinforces the Hamas narrative.
