Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro has asked the United States to reduce tensions with his country before the situation evolves into a “great impact military conflict.” He again accused Donald Trump’s government of trying to promote a “violent regime change” in Venezuela.
The statement occurred a few hours after Trump authorized the US military to slaughter Venezuelan fighters that threatened US war ships in the Caribbean.
According to the White House, the military equipment mobilized in the Caribbean are part of an operation against drug trafficking. Still on Friday (05), the US sent 10 F-35 jets to the base of Puerto Rico, reinforcing the military presence, which already has seven vessels and a fast attack nuclear submarine.
Last Thursday (04), two Venezuelan fighters would have flew over the Uss Jason Dunham, which participates in the American operation against drug trafficking. In response, Trump promised “problems” to Venezuela if similar episodes will occur again.
