On the morning of Sunday (07), a holiday of Independence, leftist protesters gathered in downtown São Paulo to protest against former President Jair Bolsonaro and US President Donald Trump.
The act began in Sé Square, with a solidarity breakfast offered to homeless people, and went in march to Praça da República, where participants concentrated with bands, posters and flags. Among the visual highlights of the protest were inflatable dolls representing Bolsonaro and Trump.
Organized by trade unions, popular fronts and political parties, the protest also brought together politics names, such as federal deputies Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and Carlos Zarattini (PT), as well as state parliamentarians.
Protesters raised criticism of the amnesty project to those involved in the scammer acts of 8, considered a threat to democracy. The mixture of red and national flags marked the tone of the event.
For security reasons, the organization confirmed that the demonstration must be closed by 14h, scheduled time for the beginning of the act called by Bolsonaro supporters on Paulista Avenue, also in São Paulo.
