Laura Vandervoort is kicking off an exciting new chapter.
The Smallville alum revealed she tied the knot with Adam Coates in a “little backyard legal celebration” surrounded by their family and dogs in June, followed by a ceremony with 90 guests in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, Sept. 6.
“We wanted to make the wedding feel comfortable for everyone,” Laura told People in an interview published Sept. 7. “Nothing over the top, very warm and welcoming.”
The “rustic and elevated” event included several personal touches commissioned by the couple, who got engaged in September 2023 after meeting on a dating app. Notably, the two chose not to serve a wedding cake, opting instead to offer attendees a late-night candy table.
“We actually have a candy drawer at home, different mason jars filled with everything you can think of,” Laura, 40, explained. “An assortment of beautiful jars and candies and macaroons and other sweets with cute baskets and take-away gifts was the way to go.”
