Extra collection on the electricity account remains in October

by Marcelo Moreira

The electricity bill will continue with the extra charge in October, Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) decided to reduce the tariff flag for the red level 1.

With the change, the additional charge becomes $ 4.46 out of every 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed. Between July and September, the Red Flag in the level 2, with an increase of R $ 7.87 per 100 kWh. In June, level 1 was adopted, while in May the flag was yellow. From January to April, consumers had green flag, with no extra charge.

The reduction for level 1 decreases the impact on inflation and partially relieves costs for families and companies, but also indicates unfavorable conditions of power generation. There is still no forecast on how long the red flag will remain active, as this will depend on hydrological conditions and energy demand in the coming months.
