Cláudio Humberto: CPMI of the INSS advances testimony of Fernando Cavalcanti

by Marcelo Moreira

The chairman of the Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) that investigates fraud in benefits of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Carlos Viana (Somos – MG), postponed the testimony of Fernando Cavalcanti, target entrepreneur of the Federal Police (PF) in operation “without discount”. His attendance was passed next Monday (6).

Only the second hearing was maintained for this Monday (29): the president of the National Confederation of Family Farmers and Rural Family Entrepreneurs (Conafer), Carlos Ferreiras Lopes. Viana defended the postponement as a way to ensure that none of the deponents cancel the trip to the commission. “It is a position that I have talked to the rapporteur, to invite two people and dismiss one, so we do not lose the hearing,” he said.

Fernando Cavalcanti is an administrator and CEO of Valetra, acting on office services and administrative support, and former partner of Nelson Willians, a lawyer who was arrested by CPMI last week. On the 12th, the DF manager was the target of the “without discount” operation and PF seized a Ferrari, a replica of the Formula 1 car used by Ayrton Senna, luxury clocks and cash.
