The process of canceling deputy Carla Zambelli was sent to the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) in June, by decision of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta. The CCJ will be responsible for analyzing the case before it follows to vote in the House Plenary. For the parliamentarian to lose the mandate, at least 257 favorable votes are required.
As part of the defense strategy, Zambelli’s lawyers have indicated witnesses who, according to them, can help reinforce the claim that the deputy is being the target of political persecution. Among the names are the judicial expert Eduardo Tagliaferro and the blogger Oswaldo Eustáquio.
Remember the case
The Federal Supreme Court (STF) accepted the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and made Defendants Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and hacker Walter Delgatti Neto. The process is under the rapporteur of Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Between February and May 2025, the PGR formalized their request for conviction, accusing them of invasion of judicial systems and forgery of official documents.
The complaint states that Zambelli was the author of the attack on the National Council of Justice (CNJ) system. According to the Public Prosecution Service, she would have recruited Delgatti and offered advantages in exchange for the execution of the plan, whose purpose would be to delegitimize the judiciary and obtain political gains.
The fraud involved the adulteration of credentials, improper access to confidential CNJ systems and the creation of false documents, such as an arrest warrant and a blocking order of R $ 22.9 million, allegedly against Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
