Brazil will issue free electronic visas for COP30 participants

by Marcelo Moreira

Brazil will issue electronic visas to the citizens of the countries participating in the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will be held in Belém, Pará, from 10 to 21 November.

E-Visto will serve to speed up the process of entry into the country, offering more practicality and security to all who will participate in the event.

Nationalities in need to request visa to come to Brazil will do so digitally, without the need to attend the Brazilian consulate in their country. Until then, this type of request was allowed only to citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia.

With an expectation of a public of 50,000 people, members of the 198 Signatory Countries of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are expected for the event.

For two weeks, negotiators will seek consensus on global goals for reducing the emission of gases that promote the warming of planet Earth.
