Opposition deputies and senators announced on Tuesday that they will sleep in the House of Representatives and maintain the occupation of the Senate Board. With the obstruction of the work, the sessions marked in both homes were canceled.
Early in the evening, the security of the House asked all the press professionals to leave the plenary and the galleries. With the doors closed and lights off, only parliamentarians were allowed. Opposition members in the house will take turns in three groups to keep the vigil.
The act is a protest against the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF), who determined the house arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro for breach of precautionary measures. In the Senate, parliamentarians occupied the board of directors and covered their mouths with stresses as symbolic action.
The opposition claimed that it will only leave the venue when Senate President David Alcolumbre (União Brasil – AP), guided three priority voting guidelines: the impeachment of Alexandre de Moraes, the amnesty to the condemned by January 8, 2023 and the end of the privileged forum.
Both alcolumbre and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), criticized the occupation and canceled the sessions scheduled for this Tuesday (05) in Congress. The obstruction of the work occurs in the midst of an intensification of the political crisis between the legislature and the judiciary.
