The control took place on the highway BR-401, near Boa Vista (Roraima). During the inspection, PRF agents discovered hidden rooms in the vehicle where the gold bars were hidden.
According to today’s market value, the seized gold is worth over $ 60 million ($ 11 million), which constitutes a hard blow to organized crime and illegal recovery of natural resources.
The operation is part of the Amazon Plan: Safety and Solvation (AMAS), an initiative of the federal government to strengthen the fight against crime in the legal Amazon region, and to protect national resources.
