The Belarus government has ended the “Voenkor-2025” tactical-special exercise, intensive training for state-owned journalists.
The closing ceremony took place at a unit of the special operations forces, attended by high -ranking military authorities.
For seven days, participants – all from state -controlled media – underwent an extreme journalism course under the direct supervision of the Armed Forces.
The program included emergency medical training, shooting practice, topographic navigation, forest survival, ground guidance and protocols for interaction with military units in combat operations.
Specific conducts were also taught in case of capture, aligned with the official government’s narrative.

At the ceremony, the assistant of the Minister of Defense for ideological work in the Armed Forces and head of the main department of ideological work, General-Jor Leonid Kasinsky, thanked the journalists and delivered certificates of completion and official souvenirs.
In his speech, he stressed the importance of journalists “prepared to fulfill their mission in extreme situations”, reinforcing the integration between state press and military apparatus.
The initiative, presented as professional training, is seen by critics such as another mechanism of indoctrination and ideological alignment, consolidating the dependence of state media to the guidelines of the government of Alexander Lukashenko.
Organizations such as Reporters Without Borders and the journalist protection committee put Belarus among countries with the lowest press freedom in the world – in 2024 it was in the latest positions of the global ranking.
