The US government is evaluating a new project to demand a security of $ 15,000 for tourists and entrepreneurs from some countries to have their entry visa in the approved country. Brazil can integrate this new list.

Through a statement, the Federal Register (Official Gazette) reported that the measure should come into force within two weeks and aims to repress the entry of visitors who exceed the period of validity of their permanence documents.

With the endorsement of Donald Trump’s government, the new program will allow the American consulates to decide on the imposition of a deposit to visa applicants in countries with high permanence rates outside the visa period, according to the text of the Federal Register.

Also, the measure can be applied to visitors from countries where screening and security checks are considered insufficient.

According to the statement, the new state department visa program is expected to take effect on August 20 and will initially last one year. The measure will affect B-1 visas applicants, which includes foreigners with interests in temporary US businesses, and B-2, for temporary travel for tourism and other purposes.

The announcement of the new American government project related to immigration comes after the approval of Trump’s fiscal plan for next year, nicknamed “One Big Beautiful Bill” which established a new fee for issuing the American visa, which adds a charge of more than a thousand reais to the document.
