Trump says that “probably” will not try third term

United States President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that “probably not” will compete for a third term.

The Republican agent was asked about the matter in an interview with CNBC. “No, probably not,” he said, before adding, “[Mas] I would like to compete. I have the best evaluation numbers I’ve ever had. ”

Since 1951, an amendment of the American Constitution has prohibited that a person be elected to the presidency more than twice, even if they are not consecutive mandates (case of Trump, who was in office for the first time between 2017 and 2021).

Even so, Trump supporters often speak of the possibility of a third term of the Republican.

In April, when his second management completed one hundred days, stores that sell their official products began to market items with references to a possible third term.

“I prefer not to talk about it now, but as you know, there are some gaps that have been discussed and are well known. But I don’t believe in breaches. I don’t believe to use them (…). I can only say the following: I’m being flooded by requests. I’m doing a good job,” Trump said in March.

In January, Trump became the oldest man to take office for the US presidency, 78 and 220 days old on the first day of his second term, beating the record of Democrat Joe Biden, who was 78 and 61 days old when he began his only term in January 2021.
