United States President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that it is considered to authorize the Justice Department (DOJ) to sue the president of the Federal Reserve (Fed, the Central Bank), Jerome Powell, due to the reforms being made in two buildings of the institution.

Trump made the comment in a post on the Truth Social Network, in which he again charged that the basic American interest rate is downloaded. Last month, the rate was kept in the range of 4.25% to 4.50%.

“The damage he has caused to always arrive too late is incalculable. Fortunately, the economy is so good that we overcome Powell and the complacent counsel [do Fed]. However, I am considering allowing a major process against Powell to be presented due to the horrible and grossly incompetent work he did in managing the construction of the Fed buildings, ”he wrote, in reference to a reform being held in two buildings of the institution.

“Three billion dollars for a job that should have been a $ 50 million repair. Not good!” Trump added.

Since returning to the White House in January, the Republican has been charging a reduction in the American interest rate.

In July, before the Fed kept the rate, Trump called Powell a “idiot” who does “bad work” and accused him of acting with “political motivation.” Earlier, the Republican considered dismissing the Fed president, but then disconcerted it.
