United States President Donald Trump signed a decree on Wednesday (6) that establishes an additional 25% rate for India due to the purchase of Russian oil.
The document says that, “and in accordance with applicable law, India articles imported to the customs territory of the United States will be subject to an additional rate the value 25%. ”In total, India will be subject to 50% taxes on its imports.
Trump says in the executive order that “it has been found that the government of India is currently importing directly or indirectly oil from the Russian Federation”, even after the Republican threatens more than more charges on countries that maintain the dictator’s war machine Vladimir Putin.
The decree says that the measure will be valid for some Indian items 21 days after the publication of the document, while for others it will be valid from September 17.
