President Donald Trump dismissed an important employee of the US Department of Labor, after the release of a report that revealed weak growth in the number of new jobs.
The episode that took place on Friday (01) increases concerns about the quality of economic data released by the federal government.
In the publication, the department reported that the American economy created 73,000 jobs in July. In addition, May and June data were reviewed down, excluding 258,000 jobs in new analysis.
According to the American press, there is no evidence that supports Donald Trump’s allegations about manipulation. The Statistical Agency compiles the close monitoring employment report, as well as consumer and producer price data.
