Thomas Party, former arsenal player accused of rape, gets freedom under bail

According to British police, the player raped and sexually harassed three women between 2021 and 2022. In a statement, police say he was indicted for six accusations: two for rape to a first woman; Three also for rape to a second woman; and an accusation of sexual aggression to a third victim. The charges, the statement says, “are the result of a police investigation that began in February 2022, after police received the first report of rape.” He was even arrested preventively while still one of Arsenal’s leading players. Party’s lawyer, Jenny Wilshire, says he “denies all accusations” and welcomes “the opportunity to finally clean his name.” If the court upholds the complaints, he will become a defendant and go to trial. “Our priority continues to support women who have performed. We ask anyone who has been affected by this case, or anyone who has information, who talks to our team,” British police detective Andy Furphy, who leads the investigation of the case.
