‘Speaker War’: North Korea dismantles devices to reduce border tensions

The military, informs Reuters, said that additional confirmation is needed to find out if dismantling is occurring in all areas, adding that they would continue to monitor related activities. On Monday (4), the South Korean authorities began to remove the speakers who were broadcasting North Korea along the country’s border, while Lee revived stagnant dialogue among longtime archirrivals. Seeking to alleviate tensions with Pyongyang, Lee’s liberal government, which replaced a conservative government, turned off the propaganda transmissions that criticized the North Korean regime shortly after Lee took office.
