Škoda, the Czech company part of the Volkswagen Group, recently unveiled the concept for a 2025 version of its Felicia Fun pickup.
Previously forgotten by the public, the Felicia Fun pickup had a short life after its launch in the 1990s, with only 4,200 units produced.
At the time, it was developed as a “lifestyle” vehicle, featuring a sliding rear partition behind the front seats, which when moved back created space for a pair of rear seats.
Even with the seats, the vehicle still left some space for cargo in the bed, while a canvas roof protected passengers in the open rear.
All models came with a rear spoiler and had a bright yellow color. However, buyers could customize the paint with some green or orange details on certain parts of the body if they wished.
For 2025, Škoda released a concept showing the Felicia Fun redesigned by French designer **Julien Petitseigneur**, who gave the car some modern elements while maintaining the aspects that make it instantly recognizable.
His idea for the Felicia Fun 2025 was to create a “cool beach vibe.” While modern car dashboards are dominated by screens, Petitseigneur’s design keeps the boxy look that harks back to the past.
But unlike the original, the revived Felicia Fun is strictly a two-seater vehicle, abandoning its predecessor’s 2+2 layout in favor of extra cargo space.
Unfortunately, it is quite unlikely that the VW Group will actually develop a pickup like this. Still, it is a smart experiment that brings nostalgia to fans of Škoda’s older cars.
