The test marks an important step in the development of the system, which is intended to provide a mobile and interoperable long-distance solution for forces from the United States, NATO and allied countries. Gmars is designed to shoot the same precision weapons as Himars and M270a2and combines the proven impact of GMLRS with the mobility of the Rhein metal wheel platform HX.
In addition to GMLRS, the system has the capacity to use ATACMS-rackets and PrSM (Precision Strike Missile)something that extends its operational reach significantly. Compatibility with existing systems ensures full interoperability with NATO’s weapons artery.
