Sandwich broccoli is suspected of causing death of a musician in Italy

According to the Italian press, Luigi Di Sarno, the fatal victim, was a musician and artist. The food truck where the snack was bought is banned. All products were seized by the Sanitary Surveillance and the prosecutor will conduct an investigation. Botulism is the result of toxins produced by Bacteria Clostridium botulinum and attacks the nervous system, causing breathing difficulties, muscle paralysis and is fatal in about 10% of cases. The infection is rare and is usually contracted by ingestion of contaminated foods, such as broccoli.
