Russia takes up three new warships in the midst of maritime losses

The Russian Navy officially put three new combat ships into use during ceremonies on 28 August in the ports of Baltiysk and Makhachkala.

The following ships were put into use in Baltiysk:

Viktor Velikiy (Project 22160)
The fifth ship in the series, laid in 2016 and launched in May 2024. After testing in 2025 it is ready for coastal defense and escort missions. It can transport a KA-2.7PS helicopter and is equipped with an AK-176mA cannon, machine guns and the Aeriebeweer systems Shtil-1 and Gibka.

Stavropol (Project 21631, Buyan-M-Klasse)

Typhoon (Project 22800, Karakurt class)
