The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a video showing the end of the competition in the strategic missile forces (RVSN) to appoint the best mechanic driver of the self-driving PGRK “YARS” firing vehicle, held in the Ivanovo region.
Over the course of a week, the participants-selected from the best mechanic drivers in the missile units-tested in precision and speed while driving, through narrow passages, artificial and natural obstacles as well as an area simulated as contaminated.

In addition to the practical tests, participants were also evaluated in exams on traffic rules, technical characteristics and the structure of the mobile missile complex “Yars”.
The final stages included theoretical tests, compliance with rules for protection against chemical, biological and radiological (CBRN) weapons, assessment of the soldiers’ physical ability and shooting exercises.
The video, published by the ministry, shows heavy vehicles maneuvering in challenging terrain and emphasizes the importance of operators’ training for combat readiness in Russia’s strategic atomic forces.
