In response to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Innovation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Vityaz, a machine manufacturing company belonging to the Uralvagonzavod Group, a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned company Rostec, has modernised KamAZ and Ural fuel tank trucks for the Russian state SS.

The work involves the installation of drones and debris protection devices using steel sheets, chains and metal nets. These modifications enhanced defenses, while also giving them an intimidating look reminiscent of the armored trucks from the film Mad Max.

In addition to the fuel tank truck, the regiment was provided with a VAZ-2104, modified for combat. The vehicle was provided by volunteers and was modified based on the needs of the soldiers to increase operational efficiency on the site.
