Russia accused the United States of exercising illegal commercial pressure on India after US President Donald Trump threatens to increase rates on Indian imported products on Monday because of the purchase of Russian oil. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Americans try to force another country to cut into business relations with Moscow, and stated that sovereign nations should have the right to choose their own business partners.
Donald Trump gave until Friday (8) for Vladimir Putin to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine. Otherwise, he said he will impose new sanctions on Russia, as well as the countries that buy Russian energy. Despite the ultimatum, Putin, has not signaled any change in the position on the war. Meanwhile, the Indian government called Trump’s threats unjustified, and promised to protect his economic interests.
