The Rio de Janeiro Court has denied an injunction to release rapper Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, Oruam. The decision was by the Judge Rapporteur Marcia Perrini Bodart, from the 4th Criminal Chamber of Rio.
The artist’s lawyers had come in with a habeas corpus in favor of the singer, on the grounds that pre -trial detention is illegal and unnecessary. According to the defense, the rapper, son of trafficker Marcinho VP, suffers persecution. Nevertheless, the magistrate reinforced excerpts from the prosecutor’s complaint, who stated that Orua have challenged the police who went to his house to fulfill a search and seizure warrant against a teenager on 21 July.
Oruam surrendered to the police on July 22, after the pre -trial detention decreed. The rapper and one of his friends were reported by the prosecutor and are already defendants for attempted murder.
