After ordering Times Square evacuation, New York police reopened the site for vehicles and pedestrians. On social networks, the authorities had detailed that the emptying of one of the most famous squares in the world was motivated by a “ongoing investigation.”
According to information published by the news agency Reutersthe evacuation was due to a suspicious package. The square was closed for more than an hour.
On social networks, netizens shared information about bomb suspicions and totally empty Times Square images. Also according to Reutersthe authorities had asked employees of buildings near the square that avoided being close to windows.

“Due to a police investigation ongoing, avoid the 43 -west street area with 7th Avenue in Manhattan… expect emergency vehicles and nearby delays.”
