Papa Leão 14 celebrates Mass for more than 1 million young people in Rome during Jubilee

by Marcelo Moreira

Pope Leo 14 celebrated on Sunday (3) a mass that brought together over one million young people in Rome, Italy. The ceremony was the highlight of a great pilgrimage that attracted Catholics from around the world as part of the Jubilee celebrations, the Holy Year of the Catholic Church.

This was the largest event chaired by Leo 14 since the beginning of his pontificate, almost three months ago. The outdoor mass occurred in a climate of faith and enthusiasm, marking a symbolic moment of union of Catholic youth around values of hope and spiritual renewal.

At the end of the celebration, the Pope made an appeal for peace and lamented the ongoing armed conflicts, especially the wars in Gaza and Ukraine.

“I ask you young people to help build a better world with more compassion, justice and solidarity,” said Leo 14.

Jubilee is a traditional church event that occurs at regular intervals, offering plenary indulgence to the faithful and promoting reconciliation and charity initiatives.
