“The powerful scam against Israel on October 7 resulted in very important historical achievements. First, he brought back the Palestinian cause. Why are all these countries recognizing Palestine now?” This was one of the statements of a Hamas leadership, Ghazi Hamad, during an interview with the station Al Jazerareferring to the growing appeal against Israel, especially France and the United Kingdom, of the recognition of a Palestinian state.
The senior member of the political wing of the terrorist group continued with the answer. “The fruits of October 7 were what caused the whole world to open their eyes to the Palestinian issue – and they are walking toward her hard […]”.
In recent days, several European countries have signaled that they should recognize a Palestinian state soon. France President Emmanuel Macron announced last month that his country will recognize the Palestinian state at the next UN General Assembly in September.
A few days later, the United Kingdom walked in the same direction, conditioning Israel to solve what it called “catastrophic situation” in the Gaza Strip so that such a measure is not confirmed. Otherwise, the British government announced that “it will recognize the state of Palestine in September, before the celebration of the UN General Assembly.”
Israel Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar responded to the Hamas leadership interview this week, criticizing the position of some European countries. According to Israeli authority, unilateral recognition at this time only “rewards terror”.
Sa’ar said on Tuesday that countries that announced plans to recognize a Palestinian state in recent weeks have sabotaged a ceasefire agreement with the terrorist group Hamas.
“There are countries that acted, also in this building, to press Israel instead of Hamas, for delicate days in negotiations, attacking Israel, campaigning against Israel and announcing the recognition of a virtual Palestinian state. They gave Hamas gifts and incentives to continue this war,” the minister said on the UN.
Other European countries, such as Spain, Ireland and Norway, have unilaterally recognized a Palestinian state.
