The reality star reflected on how grief as a father, which he acknowledged is vastly different than Natalie’s.
“There’s an immediate bond and a connection that I think is very unique for mothers,” he said. “For the dads out there, you’re trying to strike this balance between grieving yourself, but also just keeping life together and keeping the family going.”
He added, “For people who do experience it, there’s a tragedy there that makes you feel very alone. That’s something Natalie’s going through right now.”
Although Nick and Natalie, 25, continue to mourn the loss, he shared that his wife is “doing OK physically and healing.”
They’ve also continued to focus on the positives amid the heartbreak, with the Bachelor Nation star emphasizing, “We have a lot of amazing blessings in our life—the first and foremost being River.”
“We were very lucky to have a fairly easy pregnancy,” he explained. “It’s just like really no complications, which was such an amazing blessing. Despite what’s going on right now with us, our doctor keeps reminding us that that is the best sign of our future ability to grow our family.”
