The Vatican stated that more than one million young people were present at this Sunday’s special Jubilee celebration (3), one day after extensive camps in the southeast of Rome. Pope Leo XIV asked the faithful to “spread his enthusiasm and the testimony of his faith” upon returning home.
“Aspire to great things, holiness, wherever they are.” “Don’t be content with less. So you will see the gospel light grow every day, in you and around you,” said Leo.
The camps occurred after the young people participated in a vigil by the youth jubilee on Saturday, also chaired by the Pope, who was transported by helicopter since the Vatican City.
The Holy See confirmed that, in addition to more than one million young people present, 7,000 priests and 450 bishops also celebrated the Jubilee.

Through the streets, young people chang hymns as they prayed their thirds. It was a moment of joy for the public, who stayed for hours on the maximum circus for the confession of their sins to local priests, who offered the sacrament in more than 10 languages. Even during the rain, the faithful present did not lower the spirits.
The special celebration of Jubilee, part of the Holy Year, is expected to attract 32 million people to the Holy See to the secular pilgrimage.
If on the one hand it was a time of celebration on Saturday, Vatican authorities confirmed that two young people died during the pilgrimage. According to information published by the news agency APOne of them would have suffered a cardiac arrest.
