Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) authorized on Wednesday (6) the interim between Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid and Colonel Marcelo Costa Câmara, both defendants in one of the criminal actions of the attempted coup against the Democratic Rule of Law.
The caressing was scheduled for August 13, at 11:30 am, at the Supreme headquarters, in Brasilia. The procedure was authorized at the request of the defense of the House, which pointed out what would have been contradictions in the testimony of Cid, former assistant of orders of former President Jair Bolsonaro and whistleblower of the plan. The colonel is arrested preventively at the Papuda Penitentiary Complex in Brasilia.
The defense of the chamber maintains that Cid contradicts when he accuses the colonel of having contact with scoup decree drafts that would have been debated at meetings at the Dawn Palace.
Another contested point is the stretch in which Cid states that Câmara promoted continuous monitoring of Moraes. Finally, the lawyers claim that Cid does not tell the truth about the chamber’s knowledge about the motivations for the demands he received about the alleged plan.
