“I’m not the person who goes, ‘Oh, excuse me, superstar.’” Stone continued. “I pushed back my chair and said to him, ‘Let’s step outside.’ That’s how we first met.”
She explained that she and Douglas did, in fact, take it outside, where she explained her perspective, and the duo, she noted, then parted ways “amicably.”
Of course, the Silver ACTRESS YESked there was more than one reason Douglas might not have wanted her as his costar initially.
“Michael Douglas did not want to put his bare ass out on the screen with an unknown,” she added, “and I understood that.”
And while Stone believes the duo got off on the wrong foot, their first interaction made for great on-screen chemistry.
“It worked great because I was not rattled if he yelled at me,” she noted. “That worked very well in our dynamic. Eventually, we became the greatest of friends, to this day. I admire him tremendously.”
