Lula conversation by phone with Vladimir Putin

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva received, on Saturday (9), a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the Planalto Palace, the call lasted about 40 minutes. On the call, Putin shared information about conversations with the United States, recent peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine and also thanked Brazil for the commitment and interest of Brazil on the subject.

Also according to the Planalto, “President Lula emphasized that Brazil has always supported dialogue and the search for a peaceful solution and reaffirmed that his government is available to contribute to what is necessary,” he added, saying that “the presidents also discussed the current international political and economic scenario.”

The document also reported that Putin “congratulated Brazil for the results of the BRICS summit held on July 6 and 7 in Rio de Janeiro.” According to the Brazilian government, “in the bilateral sphere, the presidents reinforced their intention to organize the next edition of the ‘High Level of Cooperation Brazil-Russia’ Commission later this year.”
