The French-German defense company, KNDS, has unveiled the second prototype of its new main tank, Leopard 2A-RC 3.0, at a demonstration on the Klietz military training field in Germany.
The PT02 vehicle was unveiled on an open day, with the recordings published by the Militär- und Landtechnik Klaus Schröder YouTube channel. The platform is a major step forward in the development of the Leopard 2 family, using an unmanned tower and redesigned staff compartment.

In the new layout, the three -person staff – commander, manager and shooter – were located in the armored body, alternating between positions in the traditional tower basket. This concept differs from models such as the Russian T -14 Armata, the American Abrams X and other tanks designed with other unmanned tower.
According to the event, the automated tower reduced the combat weight below 60 tons, increasing agility without reducing firepower. The main armament is a 120mm smooth cannon that can be fitted with a 130 mm or 140mm caliber in the future.
The automatic charging system on the back of the tower can shoot 18 shots every minute. The prototype is equipped with Spike LR anti -tank rockets, the Israeli Trophy active defense system and explosive reactive armor in the front and side parts.

The purpose of the design is to maximize staff’s chances of survival by staying in the body and reducing vulnerabilities against the tower results. The compact form also reduces visual and radar crossings on the battlefield.
By combining firepower, layered protection and modular elasticity, Leopard 2A-RC 3.0 increases the range range and diversity of goals, making it a prominent competitor in modern armored warfare.
