The Ukraine Security Service (SBU) reported on Friday (15) that since the beginning of the Russian aggression war, he had 52 from his military personnel who worked for Moscow, of which 44 have been sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison.
“The SBU discovered 207 agents of the Russian special services that collected information about the defense forces and the military facilities of Ukraine,” said the intelligence body in a statement, in which it detailed the detention of the 52 military and the condemnations for betrayal to 44 of them.
The SBU cited as an example the “former commander of the unit of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukraine Armed Forces that leaked to the occupants the Combating Operations Plans of the Ukrainian Special Forces behind the enemy lines”.
This military man has already been sentenced to 15 years in prison, according to the Ukrainian intelligence statement.
The SBU recurrently reports cases such as the military or civilian who operate in favor of Russia. On Thursday, SBU reported the detention of a cell of four people who worked for Russia and planned to participate in Russian attacks against the city of Odessa in southern Ukraine.
“They prepared for the FSB [Serviço Federal de Segurança, antiga KGB] The coordinates of the warehouses where the weapons, ammunition and supplies of the Ukrainian troops were stored, and also sought the geographical locations of the air defense units to adjust the attacks of the Russians, ”said SBU about this other case.
SBU specified that one of the detainees was a man who worked as security at a martial arts school and had a contact at the Crimea Peninsula, illegally attached by Russia in 2014.
This contact is a collaborator of Russia’s intelligence services and someone close to Igor Markov, former regime party leader, a prohibited legend in 2023 and which was linked to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
