In another attack on Thursday (31), Russia said it captured the city of Chasiv Yar in eastern Ukraine after nearly 16 months of fighting. According to the Reuters news agency, if confirmed, the annexation would represent a significant gain for Moscow forces and could allow them to advance toward strategic cities in the Donetsk region. Ukraine did not confirm the capture of Chasiv Yar.
