Israel reports that it killed 240 Hezbollah members

Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said on Wednesday that Israel’s defense forces (FDI) performed about 600 air attacks against Lebanon and killed 240 members of the Hezbollah terrorist group since the ceasefire came into force in the country on November 27, 2024.

“The results are not preceded: from the ceasefire agreements, more than 240 terrorists have been eliminated and approximately 600 air attacks have been made,” Zamir said on a visit to one of the positions Israel has occupied since the southern ceasefire.

The chief of the FDI has assured that Israel applies “a new strategic concept” that he classified as “proactive” by attacking neighboring countries like Lebanon after detecting possible threats in them.

With this approach, the Israeli Armed Forces killed at least 240 people, who identified as Hezbollah terrorists in different attacks across the country.

The Israeli forces claimed that their targets were trying to rebuild the Shiite terrorist group’s infrastructures in Lebanon.

In addition, they justified the possibility of bombing the neighboring country through the ceasefire agreement, which, according to him, is safeguarded by avoiding a rearmament of Hezbollah.

“Our job is to configure our national security as we consider appropriate,” he added.

Zamir defended the Israeli presence in Lebanon after approving this morning the expansion plans of the offensive in Gaza. “At the same time, we operate in Syria, Yemen, Judea and Samaria [como Israel se refere ao território palestino da Cisjordânia] And monitoring events in Iran, ”he added.

Israel and Hezbollah agreed with a ceasefire in Lebanon, to be supervised by the government of this country and entered into force on November 27, 2024, after a climb of FDI bombing against the country in late September last year.

Since October 7, 2023, the border between the two countries had become the scene of a daily exchange of projectiles, after the Lebanese terrorist group began to attack Israel in solidarity with Hamas.
