Israel eliminates Hamas terrorist who kidnapped military

Israel’s defense forces (FDI) announced on Wednesday (13) the elimination of Abdullah Saeed Abd Al-Baqin, identified as deputy commander of a company of the Nukhba unit, member of the Jabalia Central Battalion of the Hamas Terrorist Group. According to the statement, the operation that culminated in the death of the terrorist took place on August 7, in the Gaza Strip, with joint participation of Shin Bet (Israeli Internal Security Service).

According to the Israeli authorities, ABD al-Baqin was directly involved in the attack of 7 October 2023, when Hamas terrorists invaded Israeli territory. He participated in the raid against the coordination base of the Erez district and the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers Ron Sherman, Nik Beiser and Tamir Nimrodi.

The newspaper The Times of Israel He reported that the bodies of Sherman and Beiser were recovered lifeless after the captive period in Gaza, while Nimrodi remains hostage at the Palestinian enclave. It is not yet known if he is alive or dead.

The FDI stated that since the beginning of the war, ABD al-Baqin planned and executed several attacks against Israeli troops in the region.

“We are at the beginning of a new stage in the fighting in Gaza. We will do everything to protect the hostages and bring them back home,” said FDI’s chief of staff, General Eyal Zamir.

The announcement was made in the context of an expanded offensive from Israel in the Palestinian enclave. On Monday (11), Palestinians reported the most intense bombings in weeks in the east areas of the city of Gaza, where Israeli troops continue to fight terrorists.
