Indonesia receives its first Dassault Rafale fighter plane

First two-seater rayer, with serial number T-0301, marks the starting phase of the contract for 42 F4 standard devices

The Indonesian Air Force has released images of its first Dassault Rafale fighter plane, a two-seater Rafale B with serial number T-0301.

According to an official statement, the photos were taken in Mérignac, France, where the first group of Indonesian specialists is being trained. This group consists of 16 soldiers – 4 pilots and 12 technicians.

From August 20, the pilots will start with a full training on the aircraft at Air Force Base Saint-Dizier, with activities that are planned until December 2025.

The contract for the purchase of the Rafales was signed in 2022 and provides for the delivery of 42 F4 standard combat aircraft, divided into three batches: 6, 18 and 18 aircraft. The order comprises 30 single -seater and 12 two -seater.

The first deliveries are planned for 2026, after completing the training phase of the staff of the Indonesian Air Force.
