Just before the celebration of her 100th anniversary, she completed the Lufthansa renovation of one of the most iconic aircraft in the history of the company: Lockheed L-1649A Starlinerknown as “Super Star”. The painting process took place at Münster -Osnarck International Airport (FMO) by Altitude Paint Services (APS) with the support of the Hamburg manufacturer Mankiewicz, which supplied 500 liters of special colors for renovation.
Next week, Starliner will be transported to Frankfurt Airport. Since spring 2026, he will become the central exhibit of the new Lufthansa visitor and conference center, exhibited next to the historical Junkers Ju 52 D-Aqui.
The restored aircraft is one of the only four maintained L-1649A out of a total of 45 produced.
